I have been involved is various capacities with computers since 1981. My first exposure came while managing a Radio Shack store. The first computer had 4K of RAM and a cassette drive running TRS-DOS.
My career continued with a short (3 years) stint at Ingram Micro as a Marketing Manager for technical products. I was exposed to Novell, Microsoft, Symantec, Amdec, Summagraphics, and a huge list of other vendors. All taught me valuable lessons in not only their technologies, but also in how computers run and interact with one another.
I have been self-employed since 1991, busy looking after computer networks, training, desktop configuration and repairs.
My current activities are shifting to include more consulting and less hands-on. The consulting includes discussions of uses of current technologies to improve the operations of companies. It also includes investing in start-ups by assessing their technology and its viability.
I am also a photographer with my pictures on display at www.farokh.ca
